From what I have heard Miami (OH) has a really nice campus, really strong academics, and they have had an awful recent basketball history, but the longer history is a lot better. It’s one of those deep rooted programs where it would be pretty cool to be a part of some resurgence. Not a bad landing spot for Stowers, and I heard could be a great place to get a great college experience. Hope it works out for him. As far as your bigger point about MAC prestige, I can’t get there. Feels like a triple bank shot. Not saying the MVC has any real leg to stand on, but I’ve been to Dekalb & it wasn’t a red carpet experience. Ypsilanti isn’t awesome either. Drove through Muncie, and didn’t seem like the spot I wanted to stop to take a piss, so I kept driving on and hoped I found something better, and I think I did. I like the northwoods, but Mt. Pleasant seems like an unsatisfying half measure towards that end. MAC does have football, which is the alter at which most athletic admins worship towards. I understand we will probably lose schools with football dreams to them. If I am a basketball player, though, I’d think I’d prefer a basketball school. As a basketball fan, I definitely prefer basketball players that prefer basketball schools. Two schools in the MAC have "nice campuses" - Miami OH and Ohio U. That's the list. We did not lose this kid, in fact lose as I stated is not even the correct word to use, do to football. As JMM stated earlier….. sometimes when the music stops there are no seats left….. end of story. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Having been to all of them except Buffalo and Amherst myself, I'm not even talking about the "niceness" of the campus - just that they have a "big college" feel. I think Bowling Green and Kalamazoo are pretty cool college campuses. From all accounts, Amherst is a pretty cool campus, too.
And I never said we lost the kid due to football - I was simply saying that we should never be surprised if or when we lose a kid to a MAC school for some of the reasons I am citing, and perceptions to "outsiders."

Standing on its own….. ok….. but in this case Specifically the point is we didn’t lose Him to the Mac or anyone else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you're into good looking girls and weekend fun, there's a BIG difference. One reason SEC, AZ and So Cal schools recruit well. The talent level is 5*. When your 18-23 year old guy that is a top 4-5 variable in choosing your school. There are stories on how coaches have used co-eds to recruit.

Could he be our Krutwig….. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Avila, Goins hits the 3 at a 44% clip. He was 46/104 last year. His size, he won't get pushed around very easily. Sent from my SM-S916U using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-S916U using Tapatalk The video of this kid is really fun to watch. He has good %s from 3 and shoots a lot of them from way beyond the arc in his clips...and there are a few moments where he really handles the ball well, is able to put it on the floor and get to the rim on guys when they jump out at him on the perimeter. He's got a whole lot of skill in a body that really doesn't look like it should have those types of skills. He's similar in that respect to a guy like Avila. He doesn't get up and down the floor very well, currently...so you'd have to think they'd want to see him convert a little bit of that dough into muscle...but he is intriguing to me...a lot of basketball skill wrapped up in a package that most programs would look past...

From the timing of his visits and announcement it feels like Vandy. But we could have a shot.
