It's why you always recruit and have good players waiting. Injuries happen to every team - have to plan on it - not just hope it doesn't happen.

Well, that means he may only miss 1 game. If we can't beat SEMO without Hannah. . .then we're going to have bigger problems than injuries.

Especially if you want continuity on a team when 5th year seniors that have to be replaced the following season. Next year for C/F we might have Ahmet, Almar and Thomas?

I kind of read this as “will miss at least 2-3 weeks” but I could be wrong. I just worry about a knee injury and it being something more serious. Maybe they would have said he’s being evaluated if it were but I’m definitely concerned. I’m assuming this happened in practice?

That doesn't sound as bad, then. Hopefully he's back for the WSU game, then. When I said #FreeAlmar, this isn't what I had in mind. The rotation will be interesting.

2-3 week knee injury, and it's mid October?
I think we'll probably survive.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Sounds to me like he twisted it, maybe light MCL sprain. 2-3 weeks is usually the timeline for that type of thing. He's young, and a world class athlete. It will be fine. Good that it happened now, if it has to happen.

It's October and we're already looking at Game 1 being short 2-3 guys from April/May expectations. Funny - that's exactly how many scholarships we didn't recruit. Games aren't won on paper, and if you don't have a contingency plan for when things aren't ideal you deserve whatever comes.

This will present an opportunity for Thomas to regain his mojo and hopefully live up to our expectations.

Someone will need to step up and that person will get their chance during practice to show their talent and added reps that should benefit the team in the long run. We're also not in a two bid league so no matter what, we just need to be healthy and stay out of Thursday to get a great chance to the dance. I wish we were a two bid league or could be a top 40 team to assure ourselves of getting to the dance regardless of what we do in St. Louis but that's not how it is.

The Valley absolutely can be a two bid league.

BU would most likely have to go on a major run and land as a top 30 team and lose in the MVC final to have a chance to be a 2 bid league. I'll take a bet if you like. The bottom teams will drag the MVC's conference rank down so low that the committee will use that against the two bid league.

It takes ONE at large team to lose in the tournament. Then you have two.

I agree with what you said on needing only ONE and that team making it to the finals but those chances are almost nil. Having another team that could help with the optics of the MVC deserving two would go a long way. The BCS boys do not need much to exclude anyone outside of their club. This is just reality. I'll still take that bet that the MVC will only have ONE team in the dance. I wish I was wrong. Look at last year with both Drake and Indiana State. This year will not be better.

Indiana State had a bad schedule and didn’t win any Q1 games. Other than a lot of MVC wins they honestly did not have a good resume. Schedule well and win a lot. The Mountain West had six teams in the tournament. But it starts with scheduling. Indiana State was not all prepared for that success and the schedule kept them out of the tournament- not the boogie man “Big Boys”.

Indiana State was most likely in the tourney if they hadn't lost to Illinois State.
