6-2 G from Morton. We’ll see if this is a walk-on, or a scholarship used, but he didn’t have any D-1 offers. I’m not local, but perhaps someone who has seen Morton play can give some insight.

I think they said it was a preferred walk-on.

Good kid good family. Will be a solid dude to fit the role he'll play next year. No delusions of grandeur as he and dad probably fully aware PT will be very tough to come by initially. He should add positively to the culture. Watched him play alot of HS ball. Can definitely shoot it. One thing many won't say about him he how hard he played and usually defended the other teams best guy. Will be interesting to see how he develops as he gets stronger and quicker b/c he'll need to obviously.
I like having a local flare. I know kids zip code doesn't win you any more games.

It does look like his late season stats were pretty impressive. And also he has responded on Twitter to other local kids that we are supposedly recruiting - so maybe he is part of the same AAU system that we are targeting players from. Pure conjecture on my part, but a possibility.

I would have to expect he won't be the only kid from Morton who attends Bradley next season.

Gus is a good player and great kid from a wonderful family. Coincidentally, his sister was a cheerleader at Belmont. Brian will love his tough, hard-nosed style. Both Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin wanted him badly. Im biased, but I think he was good as the Mason kid from Metamora who is headed to Winona State.

Live look at Mr. Rugaard watching Wardle giving away scholarships to Walk-ons: Haven't seen him play, seems to have some good accolades, and I'm sure his dad isn't Mr. Burns lol. Hope he can make an impact at some point.

Gus is the exact kind of kid Brian wants in his locker room and in his practice gym; a sweaty try-hard with a chip on his shoulder because he believes he was under-recruited. And I mean “sweaty try-hard” as a compliment.

I like kids with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove.
