Not sure how many people saw this or cared, but Braves Club is back on their War Against "Free" Popcorn, telling all Bronze tier donors to pound sand and everyone above that the number of seats you have does not matter for Braves Club credentials at the games. I have 5 seats and after donation and seat maintenance, it usually ends up in silver level. Next year, that means I only get two passes for my 5 seats.
How much would I need to donate to get one pass for each of my five seats? Trick question! You can only get 4 at gold ($1,000) or 6 at platinum ($2,500), so there's literally no way for me to get exactly 5. What the hell are people with two tickets at platinum going to do with 6 passes? Are they supposed to be eBaying these things? Is there some group abusing this to the point it is now a $500 minimum to get half a can of soda and some weird boat of popcorn? They already started rationing them like we were living through the blitzkrieg, now this.
Now, we have never used all the free popcorn's or sodas on the cards any season, but I think my kids sole motivation to go to the games is free popcorn (bouncy house and that cotton candy machine are dark horses) and passing around two passes for 5 people is just obnoxious. The math doesn't even make sense when I could split my tickets into 3 separate accounts and get six passes for cheaper than platinum.
I'd love to know what the deal is here between PCC and Bradley on this. Popcorn and soda are pennies per serving, but obviously PCC wants us paying $12 for a soda and popcorn from them instead and wouldn't allow Braves Club to have its own soda and popcorn machine.

There's been alot of texts exchanged from my group that goes to the games about the Braves Club doubling the costs this year. Some of them say they are giving up, but I think they are bluffing. I hope they stick with it because part of the fun of going to the Bradley games is seeing my friends.
I used 3 of 140 popcorns available and no soda.

Not a Braves Club Member, but man, the Civic Center getting rid of the bottomless popcorn deal last year was crushing for my kids.

Last I knew, the Civic Center was charging the Braves Club between $80-$90 a bag (those giant trash can liners) for popcorn, and $3 a can for the soda. That said, I'm not a fan of Braves Club nickel-dicking fans on this.

Hell, I tried to get rid of the free popcorn and soda years ago. But, alas, it survives...

I have been told that each credential given out for the end zone costs BU $800.

Hell, I tried to get rid of the free popcorn and soda years ago. But, alas, it survives... There has to be some better way to do this. Maybe make it an additional donation amount per pass, only available at a certain donation level? I'm sure I'm in the minority that has fewer passes than seats, but I'm also probably donating more than some people who have more passes than seats. You could probably charge $100 for "unlimited popcorn" and turn a huge profit. Maybe cut a deal with PCC to eliminate the "free" stuff but give Braves ub 50% off soda and popcorn, then PCC is making money.

I have been told that each credential given out for the end zone costs BU $800. No freaking way… That would be $50 a game. So each person would have to be drinking about 10 cans of soda and eating 5 gallons of popcorn per game. The BSS room with free beer and wine and carving stations is only about $50 per person per game.

The PCC catering company sticks it in BU’s ass as long, often, and as hard as they can on everything though. There are quite a few folks who have an odd amount of tickets because of kids though too. Family of 3 or 5 is pretty common. I assume some sort of solution will be forthcoming soon.

There is abuse of the free popcorn and soda area, but the whole thing is comical because of the triviality of it. I know several pass holders who give out multiple bags of popcorn to non-pass holders, even with the counters in effect. I've also seen a revolving line of 8 people where one pass holder kept handing off bags of popcorn to people on the rail in the stands.
I like that they also opened it up to non-pass holders for the NIT game - basically anyone could drop a $10er and get in.
How about keeping (and restoring) the perks - but also charge a $10 entry for adult non-pass holders every game and $5 for kids under 13 or something?

How much is a popcorn and soda at the consession? Probably $12 minimum and costs pennies to make? There should be a way to come up with something that makes all sides happy. I'd take the half price bucket of popcorn over the pittance you get from the Braves Club area. I used the free water more than anything. I also hope that Avantis being in there will force PCC catering to make some better decisions on pricing and quality, but I doubt it (even though Avantis sold out of food multiple times last year). When I came directly from the office to the game,I would prefer Avantis over the concession crap everytime.

The concessions and catering are 2 different businesses within the Civic Center, both of which participate in Bradley games. Catering covers everything in the Braves Club and BSS, while concessions runs everything on the concourses. Two completely different pricing and service models.
