This is an interesting one - I for one recognize Vincent Kompany as perhaps one of the greatest minds and leaders in the history of the game. I wouldn't put too much on this year's run at Burnley - he was given the assurance he would be able to lead the team back to the PL, so he tried to continue to run the way he wanted to. And they did make it interesting for a couple weeks late.
He also didn't get off to a very good start in his run at Anderlecht.
I'm not saying it's a good fit or hire, but Vinny is going to be a great, if not legendary, manager. Bayern might not be the best fit, but it will definitely be interesting to see what he can do with a talented roster and essentially limitless resources.

PL talk (and really just soccer talk in general) is one of the things I missed most after the PJS board shut down. Will be fun to get more of it as this summer goes on.

Crazy Bundesliga relegation/promotion 2nd leg yesterday - Fortuna Dusseldorf won the first leg 3:0 at Bochum, and returning home seemed to be in the driver's seat to promote into the Bundesliga, but Bochum matched the 3:0 victory in Dusseldorf, with Bochum winning on PKs.
Tough one for this Fortuna fan, but still a good season (DFB Pokal semifinalist as well, losing to Leverkusen, whose only loss across all competitons was the Europa League Final) and hopefully in a good position to promote outright next year.
A funny side story is Fortuna's big rivals are Cologne, and the Cologne newspaper ran 2 separate editions prior to the match, one for Dusseldorf addresses that spoke positively about the team's chances, and another edition for all other markets for all the negative coverage of Dusseldor and favorable coverage of Bochum.
