Kawhi Leonard just left the team so he can prepare for the upcoming NBA season with The Clippers. I always have given him the benefit of the doubt but no more. I hope fans start booing him during the season. Anyway with or without him the team is loaded and there should be zero excuses of them losing. Derrick White will be replacing KL and I believe that is a great choice. He's wiling to do whatever it takes mentality. They are playing Canada tonight in Las Vegas. Canada is one of the favorites to win a medal. They have some great guard play but are a bit weak upfront. Here's a link to the rest of their schedule: www.usab.com/teams/5x5-mens-olympics/schedules

The only reason the USA ever loses in basketball is because of lack of ample preparation or a poorly designed team. There is no country on Earth that has the basketball talent that America has. We struggle or lose when we play teams with lesser players who have been together longer and play as a team.

I agree but the top global teams on any given night can beat us now even with our best players. The global teams understand how to to exploit the International FIBA rules better then our teams. Also, the talent level is starting to even out. If Europe could put together an All Star team all bets would be off of the table.

This is only my feeling - but I don’t think there is the same personal pride of playing on the National team in the US as opposed to other countries. It’s not bad, good or indifferent - just a reality.
Giannis cried when Greece qualified for the Olympics.

Still rather have our All Stars without the pride play then our college guys who would most probably have it. Our All Stars when push comes to shove hate to lose. They'll also will be reminded of the condemnation that will befall them if they lose. It really is GOLD or they're LOSERS. I'm betting Curry, Lebron and Durant want this gold medal really bad for their legacy. Anything less will tarnish what they've put together. So their personal pride will be what drives them.

WOW South Sudan almost pulled a monumental upset against the US. South Sudan is good. They are well coached and play very good team ball. They probably hit quite a few shots they typically do not make but they're good. Good news is that the US will not take them lightly come Olympic play.
