Volleyball defeated Murray State last night to make it 6 of 8 and 2-0 in Valley play.
Soccer lost their homecoming match last night.
But good luck trying to find the stories on either of those teams on the official department website.

A long tradition of excellence has been tossed in the trash.

You shouldn't be optimistic about WBB. They will finish last in the MVC again. That program is a dumpster fire.

"cautiously" is the word I focused on. Why not be a bit optimistic for once? If they are bad again we'll have plenty of time to be miserable. I frankly won't be miserable if they are bad.

Either way, it's still hard to be worse than last year.

Either way, it's still hard to be worse than last year. Challenge accepted!! But I do think the VB program has the right coach. Hopefully they continue to improve.

Braves swept SIU 3-0 last night to improve to 8-7 (3-0). They are at Missouri State tonight. Bears are 0-4, but it's a tough 0-4. Big chance to make it 6 wins in a row and stay unbeaten in league.

Braves lose 3-1 to Bears, but they were in every set, for the most part - 23-25, 25-16, 18-25, 18-25

Another weekend sweep for the Braves with wins over Evansville and Indiana State to improve to 5-1 in Valley play and 10-8 overall. Things get real though now as the Braves face Illinois St (5-1), Drake (6-0) and UNI (6-0) then a road trip to Valpo and UIC (preseason favorites, currently 5-2).

Squirrel, did I see right that this is the volleyball squad's best start since 2002?

Squirrel, did I see right that this is the volleyball squad's best start since 2002? That sounds right. I can't think of any season in between where it would have been possible. Also talk about dominance: With Illinois State coming up - ISU has won 78 of 92 all-time matches in volleyball. 3 of Bradley's 14 wins came in the 2001 and 2002 seasons.

Braves lost all 3 matches last week, but were competitive against ISU and Drake (both 3-2 losses), but beaten soundly by UNI 3-0 (14-7, 9-0).
This week they are on the road to Valpo and preseason favorites UIC (risen to 3rd) - so a split with a good showing against UIC would be a good sign.
Bradley currently sit tied for 5th with Murray State, but have fallen a game below .500 overall.
5 of their 7 remaining league matches are against teams in the bottom 6 of the standings, with Murray and Illinois State rounding out the Braves schedule.
Great opportunity for the team to surprise and lock an upper-division league finish, after being picked for 11th of 12 teams.

Unfortunately the Braves lost both ends of their weekend to UIC and Valpo.
