Volleyball split the weekend on the road with a sweep of Indiana State, but a 3-2 collapse against Evansville, who won a hard-fought 4th set and cruised to win the 5th. The Braves are now 11-14 and 6-7 in Valley play.
Unfortunately, the loss to the Aces drops the Braves to 7th, instead of joining a 4-way tie for fourth - and keeps Missouri State and Evansville within 2 games of the Braves, instead of 3, which keeps the Braves in a precarious position for conference tournament qualification.
With 5 games to go, 4 of the Braves 5 games are winnable, but all are just as losable. Only the top 8 teams make the conference tournament, and the Braves are still in a good position to make it, but they have work to do.

Weekend home sweep of Missouri State and SIU get the Braves to 8-7 in Valley play (tied for 5th with Illinois St) and 13-14 overall.
Next weekend the Braves head south for Murray St and Belmont. The Braves beat both at home, 3-2. Murray is 4th place by themselves (14-10, 9-6 Valley), Belmont is 10-17, 5-10 Valley. Then they have to go to the Redbirds for the regular season finale.

Weekend road sweep of Murray and Belmont have the Braves in a tie for 4th heads up with Illinois State and the two teams playing the final regular season match against each other, to determine who claims 4th outright. The loser could fall into a three-way tie for 5th at 10-8, so not sure how the seeding would shake out there. Also, that scenario probably isn't terribly likely as it would require both Murray and Valpo (plays third place UIC) to win.
