Those high school kids coming in look damn good. Everyone knows the landscape today, and the year to year element of things, but the talent level looks to be remaining strong even if the experience levels drop off a cliff.

Ive never been super obsessed with getting local kids - but when you get good ones it’s impressive. And I think in the NIL landscape locL kids have a strong market value in the Peoria area which should help keep them around. That’s my hope anyway.

Obviously you never are sure of level of interest and or offers but I do Like that St. Louis has at least looked at and been interested in both Richardson and Zobrist….. I do believe Zobs had legit offer …..

Zobrist and Richardson are definitely 2 kids that any MVC school would gladly add to their roster. Staying at home isn’t for everyone and Wardle’s style isn’t for everyone, but for those that are fits for both those elements, I can see where it can help Bradley get their foot in the door, stay in the mix longer, than it would for similar talents from outside home base when bigger name programs come swooping in later. In the more transparent NIL era, I can see where it makes a talent more marketable up front, and post career. Also, Wardle at this point has a clear pitch that he might be a hardass and demanding with high expectations, but also loyal to you and fair with it, and players who stay with him tend to develop and improve. Kids a little closer to home should, in theory, see all they are gonna get and are walking into with Bradley.

Having 5 (counting Lavin) local kids on the Sweet 16 team was huge.

Really exciting to get Richardson. Hoping that he becomes everything that I hoped Emarion Ellis would be when he signed with BU.

Think we all agree we just want the best players we can get regardless of where they come from……I would offer that if you had two equal players one from California and the other from Peoria I’d take the local kid every time for a variety of reasons !!!!!
Winning is the best way to increase fan support but a good local mix never hurts and I’d offer the California kid I’d worry much more about him leaving verse a local recruit.
Again get the best you can from coast to coast and beyond!!!!
Looking forward to following Both Zobs and Richardson this year!!!!!
