I could be wrong but I feel there are as many things to dislike about this team as there are to like….. Not sure this current act is going to fair to well on the road. Hope I’m wrong. Myrtle beach will tell me/us a lot IMO. The turnovers continue to be alarming. Our interior defense leaves something to be desired also. Maybe I’m being too critical……. Lots to like….. Meta’s improved play….. Bully giving us good minutes at the point ……balanced scoring …..!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I agree. It's ok to have high expectations. There is a lot of offensive talent for sure. Tons of ways to score and different guys stepping up. Maybe the best offensive team Bradley has had in a long time. That said - the turnovers are a massive problem and also kind of shows my overall concern of a lack of attention to detail. Veteran guys like Darius, Zek and even Duke are far too careless with the ball. I do agree with DSS about the defense. We've been spoiled there for sure. This group isn't as good but has also played a couple wild one-on-one teams like NIU and UTSA. As mentioned - massive games coming up. Not just in Myrtle Beach but that Dec. 3 game at SIU scares the shit out of me. No doubt the Salukis will be ready to humble you.

Not sure what to make of this team, what is possible and what is likely. A lot of jumbled thoughts but not a lot of firm opinions. - It’s clear the staff is still very committed to the potential of Jonovic. I feel like Switzerland on it right now. Can be persuaded one way or the other by whatever you say. But the staff has seen Jonovic, and seems adamant on it, so I hope that pans out because I think the staff is coaching for best case in November vs damage control. -I feel better about Zek after this game. Just wasn’t sure if he knew what role he is in coming back, and I saw some bad shot selection at Wash St that tripped an alarm. He seemed to be in the sweet spot in game flow overall today, though he had a few turnovers. - Defensively there’s a big gap to filll, with Leons and Hickman gone. I think they can run some really good offensive combos, and have some counters to a lot of looks, especially if guys like Jonovic and Johnson can step up. But how good they will be defensively, to me, is way up in the air. - Johnson is competitive. Don’t know how good he will be overall, but I see he competes immediately. Coming from HS games where I was seeing a whole crapload of 90-80 type box scores, to D1…it says something that he competes the way he does, and it says something the staff went to him and Deen together at 5 mins and down to ice a game down too. -I had this idea that, with the continuity that maybe 10 or so teams across the country can rival, we’d just fire on all cylinders to start. That hasn’t really happened. But it’s been about what you’d need to see, minus Wash St. You also don’t want to be at your best in November, so probably not something to worry about too much yet, but… -…that said, next week is massive. They can really do themselves a lot of good in this tourney. It’s unclear if the conference will provide much buffer. You can create some for yourself next week, and get confidence and get sorted out what roles people slot in and such by stepping up next week too. Good stuff. I have heard people concerned about losing Bully to a bigger program. He's not there - and may never get there - which is fine. He's a perfect MVC player. I watched him in HS some and he played less than zero defense - that has changed and he plays hard. I really don't want to see Corey Thomas buried. They will need him to win some games. Darius Hannah has improved offensively as much as any player I can remember. Major kudos to him. He still turns it over too much - but he is efficient as hell and shoots a high percentage. Almar is maddening but he is such a weapon. Agreed on Zek - much better performance on both ends. Bradley was favored by 18.5 and won by 16. NIU isn't horrible IMO. Let's win a title in Carolina.

Also, how does Linke go from averaging 13.75 minutes the last month of last year (including Arch Madness and NIT) and get only 1 minute so far this year?

My takeaway from this game is thank goodness Zek is still Zek. I was worried about him. Hopefully we can improve on weaknesses (turnovers and defense) as the season goes on. I think we have the ability to improve defense for sure.
I don't see a dominant MVC team. Just a possible top level team. Hope that changes.

Looking at what the valley lost and the non conference results, I’d be disappointed if Bradley doesn’t run away with the league this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was negative earlier and need to balance that out a bit…… we have done and are doing something well so in all fairness……
3-1, playing well at home beating teams we should beat.
Shooting well. 54% field 44% 3’s, 74% free throws.
Duke…. Hannah…..Zek appear to be rounding into form. Dillion getting healthy and contributing . Bully not looking like a freshman.
Burch was playing well until he went down.
Meta’s improved play!!!!!!
Home crowd getting better as season progresses. Last nite was good. Will get out obvious bump come Valley season.

About the rotation being 8. Burch is injured. Our only other options are Thomas and Timoty. Then it’s Linke , Hardtke and Goanar. I actually appreciate that we are re-acclimating Zek and helping Hannah adjust to his new role at the 4.

If Meta keeps playing like he Thomas minutes will be limited but it’s hard to understand DNP’s…….especially with Almar and Metas foul trouble ….. Let Thomas get 3-4 min a half ….. If excellent defense and they reward the offensive guy who was outta control. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is there any realistic chance of seeing Burch play at Myrtle Beach?

Still very early in the season. Again BW will mold this team to be playing its best ball when it counts. The pieces are there to make a decent run. Turnovers for whatever reason have been an issue for the last decade.

Obviously this team will be a work in progress defensively, but will be fine.
Meta has the best personal defensive rating among key players on the team at 95.4. Hannah has logged many more minutes and has a 98 d-rating (you want a lower number for DRtg).
Thomas sits between them at 97.5.
Timoty has a 91.4 rating (but very small sample size) and Dillon rounds out players under 100 with 99.3 and Almar is the first player over 100 at 100.3.

In my everyday non-messageboard life I am very non confrontational. It takes a lot of times being annoyed ro ket someone know.
So, I have a hard time with coach making points with new guys every year. So.etimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. We will see what happens this year.

Are there many examples of guys in that dog house leaving and going on to have production elsewhere? I can think of a lot who have left but struggling to think of anyone who went from left out to wish we had them back under Wardle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

To me the bigger issue would be with the spring recruiting whiff w/ Thomas, Goanar, Hartke, etc.
