Drake with 14 offensive boards and only turned it over 6 times against Miami. They are gonna be a tough out.
Bradley really struggles giving up offensive boards and is averaging more than 16 turnovers/game.

Hoping we do not revert to not being able to rebound as a team again.

Drake looking solid...up 10 with 4 minutes to play against Miami... The three main guys that McCollum brought with him from NW Missouri St (Stirtz, Mascari, and Abreu) are going to make them a pretty tough out right away in the Valley this year. They don't have the athletes that some of the DeVries teams had there, but they are going to outwork and out-fundamental teams to death this year. I don't doubt that Drake will be better than expected, but Miami is not that good this year. They will finish in the lower half of the ACC.

Seem to be stabilizing things some as a conference this week. Good wins by both UIC and Drake as slight dogs. ISU will be playing a very strong McNeese St squad soon and is a double digit dog there.

2 very good wins to start the day. UIC is looking fairly formidable.

High Point and Longwood out of the Big South are a combined 11-0, each with a win over UAB. Both schedules are overall incredibly weak, however, with Longwood's next best win arguably being over 200ish Milwaukee and High Point's against 251 American.
However, High Point's next opponent is Missouri State in the Cayman Islands. The winner there gets ODU or Boston College.

Valpo hosts EIU this afternoon. It will be the first time they have faced each other since the semifinals of the 1996 Mid-Continent Conference tournament.

And yes, they were picked to win the AAC, but it was not unanimous. And they are a trainwreck so far. 1 of their 3 wins is non-DI. The others are against Southern Miss and Southeastern Louisiana. They have lost to Vermont, High Point, Longwood and now ISU.

Drake beat Vandy by 11 to win the Charleston Classic. Missouri State beat High Point as well today too. A really strong weekend and week in general for the MVC after a sluggish start.

Drake has to be a title contender at this point.

Drake has to be a title contender at this point. They certainly have a lot of buzz right now. It's wild how Schertz and now maybe McCollum can take a team of D2 players and get them competing with anyone in D1. They look really really good.

They can run slow pace offense and get pretty good shots, because Stirtz can create advantages and make high level reads regularly. That big from Wyoming was notable as an active and athletic presence in the paint too.

I don’t know about the league Schertz came from, but the MIAA is a powerhouse D2 conference. The top 2 in that league could likely compete very well in some low level D1 conferences, even threatening to win them in some cases.

NETs per CBS Sports
28 Indiana St 47 Drake 57 Bradley 109 UNI 116 SIU 117 Belmont 146 Missouri St 169 Murray St 178 Illinois St 186 UIC 203 Evansville 302 Valparaiso
Not sure how Indiana State managed that ranking - they have only beaten Chicago St, Ball St and a non-DI, with losses to SIUE and FAU, although SIUE probably carries an SOS boost to go along with their 5-3 record.
