Caden Pierce was part of an absolutely loaded team at Glenbard West a few years ago that had all 5 starters plus their 6th man that all played at some level of D-I basketball. If memory serves, the 6th man was a PWO at U of I his freshman year and then transferred to D-II Lewis University. You might be mixing him up with one of his brothers who played at William & Mary and transferred to UNC for his senior year. He may have spent some time at Lewis but didn't play. His "before Princeton" page makes no reference to other institutions and his name on the roster doesn't list any transfer institutions. Talented family, as there's a third brother that plays in the NFL as a receiver for the Colts. Or maybe there is another brother somewhere in the lineage. My original post didn't mention anything about one of Pierce's brothers at Lewis. My post was about the 6th man as a PWO at U of I before transferring to Lewis. I just looked it up and the 6th man I was thinking of is named Paxton Warden. |

Duke has been walking with a limp for the last few games. I think it’s old man problems. He went down immediately and had to be helped off the court by the trainer… He was back for handshakes so that’s a good sign. I think he just bumped knees with the opposing player and got hit in the wrong spot...like a "funny bone". He was seen laughing on the sideline after, so I would expect him to be fine for the next game. |

I missed watching the first half and only saw the second half... Man we looked bad for most of that final half. Our man to man and help defense has a ton of room for improvement. Fix that over the course of the preseason and we're still the Valley favorites.

It seems like last year it was just the opposite or we come out of the gate slow and then pick it up the second half this year. We don’t seem to be closing out games quite as strong. Murray beat MTSU by 21 in Murfreesboro. And MTSU beat Evansville by 17. If BU doesn't win the tourney going away now, then it's a failure.

Sometimes assistant coaches have to help the head coach.
Bradley had Bully, Duke, Dillon, Al and Meta in the game a the same time. Went -6 in like a minute. Can't have that lineup in there together. Ever.

We really need Burch back. Connor Dillon just doesn’t have the strength or athleticism to play meaningful minutes at this level.

Jeezus…Meta and Atlason are just so god awful on the defensive end. They are atrocious rebounders for their size and they can’t guard anyone. Sure wish we would have recruited a capable big this year…because I have no idea how we can play all year with those two getting minutes at the 5 and expect to be anything but complete shit defensively.

Lotta loose balls we aren’t gathering in….. had what looked like a few good defensive stops where they recovered and scored.
Our help defense is a step slow / late.
Make some adjustments staff and let’s go get em……

Man, if we can just lock down redbeard and #4, we'd be alright. Still, I think this one's gonna be single digits all the way.
As I've said before, Almar absolutely has to be lights out on from behind the line to make up for his massive defensive liabilities.
